Attendance

Attendance is important! An item of particular concern to the staff and administration is attendance and punctuality. If a student has excessive absences or tardiness, this will undoubtedly affect their grades.

When absent, students are responsible for making up missed assignments and work. Absences for any reason in some classes may result in a reduced grade since attendance is often a factor in the evaluation for course where participation is particularly important.

When a student is kept home due to illness, we request that the parents contact us before 8:00am.

Expectations of Students

The ISM operates on 2 basic assumptions:

1          that all students have a desire to learn within the school environment

2          that all students will demonstrate a reasonable and co-operative effort in the
                      learning process.

Dress Code

High School students are expected to observe standards of dress and grooming which emphasize neatness and appropriateness.

Cut off jeans, short skirts and revealing tops should not be worn. Skirts should be knee length or longer and trousers should be waist high and not baggy.

Lunches

the School does not provide a hot lunch. Most children bring a packed lunch from home and supplement it in the School Canteen. This offers a variety of snacks and cold drinks.

Transportation

Individual companies lay on buses for students, otherwise parents make individual arrangements for their children's transportation to and from school.
